Sunday Service: The Eighth Principle of Unitarian Universalism

There is a movement  within our Association of Unitarian Universalist congregations and communities to add a Principle to our current list of Seven Principles. The June, 2017, General Assembly directed the Association’s Board to form a study commission to discuss adding an 8th Principle as follows: We the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant  to affirm and promote Journeying toward spiritual wholeness by building a diverse, multicultural Beloved Community by our actions that accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions. Genevieve O’Malley Knight, Hopedale’s Co-ordinator of Religious Education and 2017 GA delegate, will lead us in exploring the theology related to the proposed Eighth Principle, and how it fits in the context of our Association’s anti-racist, anti-oppression, and multi-cultural work. Service Leader: Peggy Branstrator.
