On October 21, 1904, Isabelle Eberhardt, a 27 year old woman from Switzerland, died in a flash flood in the desert in Algeria. She had been living in North Africa, and had taken a male, muslim name. We know about her life from her writings, and from the writings of people who encountered her. Come join Diane Wright as we look at themes of religion, gender, and culture through the lens of this fascinating life. Service Leader: Linda Amspaugh. Potluck to follow service.
