March 10 is the Lutheran Feast Day of Sojourner Truth, the woman who was born Isabella Bomfree, a slave in Dutch-speaking Ulster County, New York in 1797. After escaping to freedom in 1827 Truth became a charismatic speaker, traveling the country orating for the abolition of slavery and advocating the rights of women. Join Diane Wright as we explore her life and her connections to our UU history.
