Charles Ganelin, who works as a CASA volunteer (CASA=Court Appointed Special Advocate) involved with children in “the system” because they’ve been removed from their home, finds this is a rewarding experience, especially since he works with Spanish-speaking families. Being a CASA in the time of COVID presents special challenges: being with the children and parents (biological, custodial, foster) is crucial, yet we must keep our distance for everyone’s health.
